The Cuban Liberty Council (CLC)
is a not for profit organization, incorporated in the
state of Florida, committed to promote liberty and
democracy in Cuba.
The CLC shall assist the efforts of human rights and
opposition groups in Cuba, struggling to establish
fundamental civil and human rights. As an integral part
of this process, the CLC supports the creation of a
civil society with the participation of workers’ unions,
press agencies, professional, students and rural
associations, religious institutions, political parties,
as independent groups not funded or founded by the
government.
The CLC shall condemn and denounce, in national and
international fora, the criminal and repressive
practices of the Castro brothers totalitarian regime,
including the lack of individual liberties, the
systematic violations of human rights, the apartheid
against the Cuban people, the association of the Castro
regime with unscrupulous businessmen to exploit the
Cuban workers, and the intrusion and subversion in other
countries.
The CLC shall support and promote the unity of purposes
of the exile community and the internal opposition in
the island in our quest to enjoy all universally
recognized rights in a free, democratic and sovereign
nation.
The CLC shall oppose any attempt by any group or
political force, inside or outside Cuba, to impose an
accord or form of government on the Cuban people that
would represent the continuance of the totalitarian
regime that has impoverished and enslaved our country
for 50 years. The main individuals responsible for
bringing about the spiritual and material destruction of
the Cuban nation are not entitled to engage in pursuing
the solution. Only by means of free and fair democratic
elections may the will of the Cuban people can be
expressed. The inalienable rights of the Cuban people to
decide their future is defended by the Cuban Liberty
Council as a fair, democratic and honorable solution,
for which the CLC will seek international support.
The CLC call on the Cubans in the island and in exile to
join us in the struggle for the liberty of our homeland. |
